BOXHAUL your ELD (a 180 degree approach to ELD)
By 2025, 1 in 4 students in the U.S. will be an ELL. It is a national imperative that we train administrators and teachers to be language brokers. Did you know that Union School District has over 760 ELs and over 36 languages represented? Learn how to leverage technology as a powerful tool to bridge the linguistic divide in your classrooms. Leave with some awesome resources, tools, and learn how to maximize the power of Google to connect with your ELLs.

Common Core That Works: Research, Grammar, and Fun in the English Classroom
What are the skills that your students always need more practice on? What are the most challenging aspects of teaching students to read, write, think and speak well? In a Common Core environment, how do you effectively focus on the 4 C's? How can you teach your students grammar without both students and teachers wanting to pull a full on Oedipus and poke out your own eyes? All these questions (and MORE) will be answered in this session. With an emphasis on SHORT assignments that can be repeated to mastery, but that students LOVE, we'll show you Common Core lessons that work, but reduce your grading and planning burden.
